Easy Manual Cleaning
Hump Magnets have two Bunting Plate Magnets hinged and gasketed
to the rugged steel housing. These plate magnets unlatch and
swing open for quick manual cleaning.
Self-Cleaning Hump Magnets
Pneumatic control provides safe, easy operation. Cleaning
takes only seconds to complete. With the product flow temporarily
shut down, the magnets and a pneumatic discharge gate swing
back to release the tramp iron collected through a special
discharge chute. Magnets and gate then return to operating
position so that processing can resume. Bunting can provide
a complete pre-engineered control package for proper sequencing
of the cleaning cycle. Contact a Bunting sales engineer
to discuss this important option.
You can locate self-cleaning separation equipment where it will
work most efficiently - where product velocity and depth
of flow are lowest - without considering accessibility.
Your operator need not handle magnets in remote or awkward
location. Self-Cleaning Humps can save your operator time
and down-time.

and miscellaneous tramp iron such as wrenches, screwdrivers,
hammers from free-flowing, clumping, or bridging-type materials.
Method of cleaning
- Manual, from outside of hump
housing by swing-away magnet hinge and latch. Self-cleaning
units use pneumatic cylinders and controls.

How to Select Hump Magnets
Use the table to find the Hump or Half-Hump Magnet that
comes closest to matching your spouting or inlet dimensions.
Find your spouting size in the table and select the corresponding
Hump Magnet.
This table is calculated for typical flow
rates for the listed spouting sizes. To select a magnet
for low flow rates or special applications, consult a Bunting
sales engineer. Be sure to specify your choice of magnetic
face, magnetic material, self-cleaning option, and construction
grade when you order.
Standard and Self-Cleaning Hump Magnets
Dimensions in inches. Sizes of spouting adapters are approximate.
