Duplex Separator Metal Detectors
Customizable Duplex Separators combine magnetic and electronic units to remove ferrous and nonferrous contaminants in high-volume applications.
Our Duplex Separators offer maximum protection against ferrous and non-ferrous debris. Features include:
- Adjustable sensitivity and rejection cycling features conserve good material
- Automatic Product-Effect Compensation increases reject accuracy
- Open frame construction offers easy access to all components
- Electronics are sealed against moisture and dust
BuntingĀ® Duplex Separators mate magnetic and electronic separators to remove both ferrous and nonferrous contaminants efficiently from free-flowing virgin resins, regrind, and recycled plastics.
They are an excellent choice wherever the volume and variety of metal debris might overload a single separator. The sturdy steel framework provides easy component access and includes a receiving hopper.
Multiple Options
Duplex Separators typically combine a Bunting Low-Profile Drawer Magnet with an electronic HS Metal Detector, but other magnetic separator and detector combinations can be selected to match the demands of specific applications.
Our compact Low-Profile Drawer Magnet requires less than six inches of headroom. The robust housing holds a single row of three magnetic cartridges. Loads can be Ceramic, Alnico, or our standard-setting Rare Earth magnets to capture the type and volume of ferrous contaminants you normally encounter.
The electronic HS Metal Detector senses and rejects both ferrous and nonferrous metals. It offers adjustable sensitivity and a fast-acting, air-powered rejection mechanism that is also adjustable to minimize loss of good material.
By capturing ferrous debris, the Drawer Magnet reduces the number of HS reject cycles, which further reduces material waste. The HS Detector acts as a backup for removing ferrous contaminants and rejects other common nonferrous metal contaminants as well. Working in tandem, these two component separators can eliminate virtually all tramp metal from the plastics you process.
