Bunting Construction Standards
The availability and specifics of special construction standards vary among and within product lines. Please contact BuntingĀ® for current information on the products in which you are interested.

Food Grade
Food grade construction is designed for applications where products for human or animal consumption are handled as an ingredient in a finished product. Construction criteria assume that the product will undergo a finishing process that will eliminate the potential for bacterial contamination. Equipment features FDA-approved gaskets and seals. Stainless steel is the primary material. All mating panels are formed or welded into one continuous surface.

Powder Grade
This equipment is built primarily for handling fine powders which must flow cleanly with minimum product retention. Interior seams are fully welded and ground smooth. Powder grade is intended for applications where products will not be used for human consumption.

Sanitary Grade
The sanitary grade specification is designed for use where products destined for human or animal consumption are handled in final form. This grade follows many of the guidelines set by the USDA-3A standard for sanitary fabrication. Equipment features FDA-approved gaskets and seals and special interior and exterior finishes, including optional electro-polishing.
