Adding an Overhead Magnetic Crossbelt and a Metal Detector can maximize product purity before feeding a Granulator or Extruder. Bunting® Magnetics Co. offers three lines of Grinder/Shredder Discharge Conveyors (GFC’s) depending of the application. Bunting® Magnetics Co. refers to these as “Hockey Stick” Discharge Conveyors.

Heavy-Duty GFC Hockey Stick Conveyors

heavy duty-2.jpg These systems run between about 8,000 and 20,000# of product per hour and usually (to get that volume) feed large bales or bulk municipal recycling. These conveyors are required to be very rugged and heavy-duty. They are usually constructed of formed steel frames, channel cross supports, heavy cross-rigid cleated or cleat topped belts with UHMW skirting, flared infeed hoppers to match up to Shredder discharges, 10” to 12” pulleys and large drives with optional Magnetic Crossbelts, Magnetic Head Pulleys and D-coil Metal Detectors w/ flip gate rejects of contaminant.

Standard-Duty GFC Hockey Stick Conveyors

GFC3.jpg These Customers are recycling “in house” scrap along with purchasing in some supplemental material. They may be shredding and grinding up anything from plastic pallets to scrap bumpers, paper, carpet, wood pallets, plastic bottles, tires or even glass bottles or wood pallets. These rugged conveyors are usually designed for 2,000 to 10,000 #/hr of shredded material and usually come with optional equipment to purify the regrind. Items such as “under belt plate” or “loop style” Metal Detectors with automatic discharge flip gates or Magnetic Crossbelts mounted above the inclines with or without a discharge Rare Earth Discharge Pulley. These units are fabricated formed steel framed conveyors with 6” to 10” diameter pulleys, heavier cleated cross-rigid flexwall belts, with flared infeed hoppers to match up to the Shredder discharge opening.

Light-Duty GFC Hockey Stick Conveyors

Light Duty.jpg These economical Discharge Conveyors are designed for lower flow rates usually under 2,000 #/hr. They are constructed of a fabricated steel frame, smaller drives, 3” to 6” pulleys with an inexpensive cleated flexwall or cleat topped belts. These are usually smaller conveyors on casters that can easily be wheeled out of the way for machine maintenance.

Transfer Conveyors:

transfer conveyor.jpgtroughed transfer conveyor.jpg Bunting® Magnetics Co. offers horizontal and inclined regrind or pellet transfer conveyors. These conveyors can either be flat flexed wall smooth or cleated conveyors or cleat topped troughed belted conveyors to transfer material to a Granulator or storage bin facility. These are usually constructed in the standard-duty specs and custom painted to match our Customer’s existing equipment. They can be equipped with special infeed hoppers, plate magnets and metal detectors as seen here to insure regrind and pellet product purity.

Optional Accessories

Bunting® Magnetics Co. offers may additional items to complete your System that will enhance product purity: Magnetic Crossbelts, Ceramic and Rare Earth Magnetic Head Pulleys, Rare Earth Plate Magnets mounted above the belts, a whole class of Metal Detectors with and without automatic contaminate reject and “sacker stations” for shredded and ground material.
