Aerosol Test Bath Magnetic Rails

For years, Bunting® Magnetics Co. has been the “Supplier of Choice” for Magnetic Test Bath Rails in the Aerosol Industry. The early bath rails were made from Alnico horseshoe magnets which later evolved into more economical Ceramic Rail assemblies for holding down aerosol cans in a heated water baths as a quality check for leakers and empty cans. Today Bunting Magnetics Co. makes some of the most popular Ceramic and Neo Rare Earth Magnetic Test Bath Rails in the Industry.

Many of the older Alnico Rails in the field that have been running great for over 30 years may have corroded to the point where they are not as effective strength wise as they need to be. Please contact a Bunting® Sales Engineer to help test your older rails and see if you may need to replace them with a new set of sealed Ceramic Rails. Bunting® Magnetics Co. can quote you a new set of Magnetic Rails to match your existing tank’s profile.

Bunting® Magnetics Co. Magnetic Test Bath Rails are designed and manufactured for either a single lane or a dual lane chain and for maximum hold down effectiveness. Whether you are producing aerosol paint cans, hair spray cans, lubricants or propane canisters – Bunting® Magnetics Co. Magnetic Rails are engineered and designed for your tank, your chain and your application. The section photos and drawings below show the dimensional differences of the single lane and dual lane tank applications.

Single Lane Magnetic Test Bath Rails –

single lane station-1.jpg Bunting® Magnetics Co. single lane Magnetic Bath Rails as seen here are usually used for a single lane of larger cans through the test bath. This means cans like propane bottles, large spray paint cans, lubricants or adhesives. These 2-pole magnetic rails are normally stronger than the dual lane magnetic systems because we are handling the larger cans. They usually run with 4 ½” to 7” plastic or stainless steel table top chains and have the center gap directly below the cans for the lug of the chain to ride in through the tank. The lower cross bar sections have mounting holes for the Customer to mount the Magnetic Rails either to the bottom of their tanks or to tank cross members.

Bunting® Magnetics Co. will be happy to test your cans on our Magnetic Rails to recommend the proper magnetic strength – angle of incline – rail lengths needed for your application.

Dual Lane Magnetic Test Bath Rails –

dual lane station-1.jpg Bunting® Magnetics Co. dual lane Magnetic Bath Rails seen here are designed for two lanes of smaller cans through the test bath. This usually means smaller cans of hair sprays, cooking sprays, adhesives and lubricants. These 4-pole magnetic rails are designed and manufactured to handle two lanes of smaller cans on a 7 ½” plastic or stainless steel table top chain. Here the center gap in the rails for the chain lug is between the two lanes of cans. The lower cross bar sections have mounting holes for the Customer to mount the Magnetic Rails either to the bottom of their tanks or to tank cross members.

The drawing shown below is a typical rail diagram of dimensional information that is needed to quote and Magnetic Test Bath Rail along with a list of can sizes and the chain that is being used.
