The Start: 1959 to 1969
The company’s first five years were devoted largely to product development and marketing. Mr. Bunting and his wife, June, both worked at the small north-side location that served as sales office and warehouse. Company sales increased from $47,000 in 1960 to $451,000 in 1964 and outgrew the production capacity of the manufacturer Bunting® represented. So in September 1964, Bunting® Magnetics Co. opened its first manufacturing plant at 9245 Cherry Street in Franklin Park, Illinois.
